Liposuction & Abdominalplasty

Liposuction

Liposuction can help individuals get rid of unwanted or disproportionate contours. Even the healthiest person can have “problem areas” that diet and exercise can’t help.  Liposuction is the permanent removal of fat which slims and reshapes specific areas of the body. Small incisions are made in inconspicuous areas and fat is removed by a cannula. Patients are required to wear a compression garment for three weeks following the procedure and will continually see improvements six to twelve months later. Liposuction will improve the fit of your clothing and your self confidence along with it. It is an individualized procedure that is carefully designed by the patient and surgeon. In consultation, Dr. Spinelli will address the personal concerns of each patient and design the most appropriate method of reduction.

Abdominoplasty

Despite regular exercise and a healthful diet, it may be impossible to attain a flat abdominal area. Even an individual with normal body weight and proportion can develop a protruding, loose or sagging abdomen due to various reasons such as heredity, pregnancy, past surgery, weight fluctuations and congenital spinal abnormalities.  Abdominoplasty is designed to firm and flatten the abdomen. A flatter and tighter abdominal profile is created through the removal of excess fat and skin and the tightening of weakened or separated muscles. In consultation with Dr. Spinelli, you will discuss the quality of your abdominal skin and its elasticity, your muscle tone and the location of the excess fat. Alternatives, such as a “mini” abdominoplasty and or liposuction, may be considered as well. It is not uncommon for an abdominoplasty to be performed following a hernia repair.

A surgical plan is designed to best meet your particular desires.

  • Flatter tighter abdominal profile
  • Removal of existing stretch marks & excess skin
  • Clothing fit
